This Privacy Policy also includes our Credit Reporting Policy, which contains information on how we collect and use credit-related information.

How we manage your credit information

Credit information is information that relates primarily to your dealings with other credit providers such as banks, financial institutions and other organisations that may provide credit to you in connection with their products or services, but also include creditworthiness information (including personal information) about you based on the data that we collect from credit reporting bodies.

From time to time, we may:

  • collect credit information from you or from credit reporting bodies; and
  • share your credit information with credit reporting bodies. Those credit reporting bodies may also include credit information about you in credit reporting information they provide to other credit providers for the purpose of assessing your creditworthiness.

The credit reporting bodies we deal with include:

For contact details and information on how those credit reporting bodies manage credit related personal information, please refer to their privacy policies available on their websites (as set out above).

Credit information that we collect and use may include:

  • your contact details;
  • current and historical details about your credit applications and arrangements;
  • information about overdue payments, default listings and payment arrangements in relation to those issues;
  • publicly available information about your bankruptcy history; and
  • your credit scores and information about your creditworthiness.

We generally use your credit information for the following purposes:

  • assessing your creditworthiness;
  • checking your credit score;
  • processing credit-related applications and managing credit we provide to you (if any);
  • collecting amounts that you may owe us under applicable credit arrangements; and
  • as otherwise required or permitted by law.

You have the right to ask credit reporting bodies that they do not:

  • use your credit information to determine whether credit providers can send you direct marketing material; and
  • use or disclose your credit information if you believe that you have been or are likely to be the victim of fraud (e.g. if you think that someone is misusing your identity to apply for credit).

How to access or correct your personal information or make a privacy complaint

If you wish to access any of your personal information that we hold or would like to correct any errors in that information, please contact us using the contact details set out in the How to contact us section of this Statement, so that we can consider and respond to your request. We may apply an administrative charge for providing access to your personal information in response to a request.

You may also use these contact details to notify us of any privacy complaint you have against us, including if you think that we have failed to comply with the Australian Privacy Principles (APP) or any binding APP code that has been registered under the Privacy Act.  We are committed to acknowledging your complaint in a prompt manner and will give you an estimated timeframe for when we will respond to your complaint.

While we hope that we will be able to resolve any complaints you may have without needing to involve third parties, you may also be able to lodge a complaint with the Australian Information Commissioner (www.oaic.gov.au).
